Das Flugzeug machte eine Notlandung in Izmir und Çelik, der kurz vor dem Erfrieren stand, konnte in letzter Minute gerettet werden. Nach einem 3,5-stündigen medizinischen Eingriff konnten Çeliktens Beine vor der Amputation bewahrt werden.
