Aziz Nesin's Alevi bride-in-law Hilal Nesin, known for her Armenian sensitivity, defined Alevism as a religion different from Islam. “Alevis are always alone. A Muslim sees the blood shed by another Muslim but forgives. If there is a conflict of interest, the Alevis are the first to be thrown into the well, followed by Armenians and other beliefs.”
