McLaren has become the first team to reveal its new season car by revealing its 2025 Formula 1 car, the MCL39, at the season launch event held at Silverstone.
Team principal Andrea Stella stressed that McLaren finished last season strongly, but that 2025 will be much more challenging: “We finished 2024 as champions but we’ve seen how competitive the others are. The same challenges will continue this year.”
Speaking at the launch event, McLaren CEO Zak Brown said: “This event is a milestone in our fight to be champions in 2025.”
Lando Norris said he found the temporary design of the car fun: “The camouflage design has been really fun. It’s nice to be able to offer something different ahead of the official reveal.”
Oscar Piastri said he was excited to get behind the wheel of the MCL39 for the first time at Silverstone: “It feels amazing to get behind the wheel of the MCL39.”
