For the first time, 149 years ago today, we said ‘hello’. Graham Bell would say “Alessandra Lolita Oswaldo” as soon as he answered the phone. Over time, Bell began to shorten his lover’s name, and whenever he answered the phone, he greeted her with “Ale Lol Os.” As his work got longer, Graham Bell shortened his lover’s name even more, coming up with a two-syllable name for her. This short name was “ALO.”
